Raspberry Pi

Raspberry Pi : Whereas the Arduino is better suited for hardware projects, the Raspberry Pi is better suited for software projects. The Pi is a credit-card sized single-board Linux computer that plugs into a monitor and uses a keyboard and mouse. It is frequently used to run servers, and make projects like tweeting birdhouses with infra-red cameras that interact with the environment. It can also be programmed to run alongside the Arduino.

Arduino: an open-source physical microcontroller that can be used to to develop interactive projects. It takes inputs from a variety of switches or sensors, can control a variety of lights, motors, and other analog outputs. Projects can be stand-alone or communicate with computer software, and boards can be assembled by hand or purchased pre-assembled. Software available for FREE.
