Using this software requires the user to download a desktop application that they can use to record their screen, themselves, or both simultaneously. Express Capture: Is a recording tool found within NYU Stream. This tool allows for members of the NYU community to record video messages. This tool does not allow for screen recording. FREE
Loom
Loom: This is a screen recording platform offering both a desktop client and Google Chrome extension. Users can select how they want to record to suit their needs with the desktop client having a few additional annotation tools. Screencast-O-Matic: A video creation tool that allows a user to record their screen and create simple recordings via a downloaded tool. Users can take high-resolution videos of screen recordings up to 15 minutes in length and add caption files. Videos are stored in an online hub and links can be shared with students and colleagues.

SparkVideo
SparkVideo: create videos by using the platform’s layouts, icons, images, fonts, and soundtracks. Add text and images to your video. Simple design and user-friendly interface makes SparkVideo a quick-and-easy tool to create appealing videos that can be shared in a variety of ways (e.g., e-mail and social media). QuickTime
QuickTime: built in Mac Operating Systems, QuickTime offers a simple and fast solution for screen recording, with the option of recording your built-in microphone simultaneously. Files are saved in H.264 format QuickTime movie with an AAC audio track (if audio was selected). FREE.

ScreenFlow: a robust screen-recording application that offers high-res capture while keeping file sizes low.
