Happy new year! We’ve changed our version numbers to match the year, meaning that our first release this year will be 2019.0. This release includes a new theme, plugin cleanup, as well as the usual updates to plugins and themes.
The Web Publishing team learned of a security vulnerability and corrected it Tuesday, 12/18. The vulnerability was discovered as part of testing for WordPress 5.0, and changes were back-ported by the community, allowing the NYU WP team to update to 4.9.9. The Service Team does not anticipate any change to the user experience.
The Web Publishing team discovered a security vulnerability Monday and corrected it by Tuesday. The Smush Pro plugin, which is used for image optimization, was patched by its developer Dec 10 and released in the Web Publishing environment overnight Dec 11. The Service Team does not anticipate any change to the user experience.
